Board Book : MOO, BAA, LA, LA, LA!

This book is absolutely adorable and so perfect for all young children (6 months to even two year's old). The inside consists of rhyming words like “A cow says moo, a sheep says BAA, three singing pigs say LA LA LA!" and the colors utilized are eye catching. This board book helps children to learn the sounds that animals make and who doesn’t love the cheerful versus inside! it is catchy so this will allow young children to pick up on certain words like “Moo”,  “BAA”, "RUFF" and of course “Oink!” The book itself makes me think about the child’s reaction and I could hear them repeating the rhymes and having so much fun with providing the sounds. The more you read it to the young child the more they will grasp the concept. It’s a great teachable and durable book consisting of the thick board pages and overall it causes such great reactions.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It’s appropriate for a broad age range of children, it’s fun and there’s bouncy rhymes to help introduce animals and their signature sounds. There’s even some comedy throughout which is a bonus for adults. What I personally like is the animals are whimsically drawn and all the animals are just merry and charming! this book helps to build those pre-academic skills which is also crucial for those young minds. Children as young as six months will have a reaction to the book through the reader's voice and the vivid art.

  1. Sandra Boynton combines lyrical, rythmic text with fun illustrations to engage the youngest readers. I personally loved reading these to my sons when they were babies because they are fun and silly!

  2. I was a huge fan of her books as bedtime stories. I think her illustration is super whimsical and I love the silliness of her stories. I noticed a lot of repetition in the board book that I read too and I think it can be super effective in helping kids match words with sounds and images.
